Horsemanship – Lessons & Mentoring

At Wild Horse Mountain Farms, we have a passion for teaching, especially children, whose minds I have found are open and willing to learn. I have discovered that their curiosity and their intuitive ability to understand how to pet the horse ‘from their heart’ is the foundation I want them to continue to learn from.

The very first thing our students learn is that safety always come first, for both the horse and the rider. At WHMF it’s all about teaching patience for the human and building trust and self-confidence in both the student and the horse.

We continue daily to research and develop horsemanship ‘lesson plans’, to help aid them in learning the lifelong skills of integrity, accountability and compassion in all walks of their lives.

“I firmly believe that horses are healers of the human spirit. In order to help the horse we need to help the human understand how the horse learns.”
